Galerie VIVID in Rotterdam is pleased to announce the exhibition ‘Janne Kyttanen’. In this exhibition Kyttanen is presenting several stories, about himself as a designer and about the future of 3D printing. A lot of big and small objects will be on display from March 2 till April 20, 2014. Only by using the newest techniques in the field of 3D printing these objects were possible to produce. We will see a Ping-Pong table with printed Ping-Pong bats and – balls, 3D printed colorful butterflies, a bench in aluminum, a printed fashion outfit, printed selfies of Kyttanen and much more. For sure it will be a rich, crazy mix and the exhibition will show that new technologies are pushing the boundaries of artistic expression and creation.




Janne Kyttanen (1974, Finland) is a prolific 3D Artist/Designer. He is best known for his forward thinking limited edition 3D printed art, which has been acquired to the best art museums worldwide, such as the MOMA, Stedelijk Museum, MAD, FIT, Holon Design Museum, Vitra Design Museum and Design Museum Helsinki. His work has awarded him numerous design awards worldwide and being Finnish native, at the start of his career, he was selected as the young designer of the year 2007 by the Finnish Design Forum.

2000 Janne founded the first design company in the world, to soley focus on creating 3D printable art and design. He called his studio Freedom Of Creation (FOC). In 2011 Freedom of Creation was acquired by 3D Systems, providing Janne with access to the world's most innovative, cutting edge software, 3D printable art and design content for this future consumer market. In 2011 Freedom of Creation was acquired by 3D Systems, providing Janne with access to the world's most innovative, cutting edge software, materials and latest technology. Janne is now also the Creative Director for 3D Systems (NYSE), the largest specialized 3D printing company in the world.

He commenced his design studies at the Escola De Disseny, Elisave in Barcelona in 1996. He moved to the Netherlands to further his studies, graduating from The Gerrit Rietveld Academy in the year 2000. He currently resides in Amsterdam and Los Angeles, where he shares an experimental creative studio with will.i.am, a multi-faceted entertainer, creative innovator, and a seven-time Grammy Award winner.
