Since
1991, Arnout Visser has worked as a commissioned designer who also developed
his own collection within the various disciplines of product design, furniture
and interior design.
The design is as basic and, as tense as it gets. Always, the first part
of his design process is based in science and techniques which include
an optical enlargement, light conduction, weight, the Law of Archimedes,
balance, movement: Concept is form! Materials are reused, and revived.Visser
combines found objects with science, searching for new forms.
From the beginning of Droog Design, Visser is involved with this initiative.
At this moment he is the best represented designer for Droog |

In
2000 Arnout started visiting Kenia. Here he makes series of designs with
a different attitude and ethics, developed in a glass workshop in Kitengela,
Kenya.
Visser calls this project Bushglass and with a formal renewal of craft-the
combination of craft skills, technical possibilities, recycled materials,
and artistic qualities he brings together two worlds that have no knowledge
about each other
The
VIVID exhibition shows for the first time an overview of the lively work
of Arnout Visser. You see the 'laboratory' glassware for Droog but also
a lot of sculptural pieces from Africa. |
