VIVID, centre for design in Rotterdam presents from April 23 till June 11th 2006 the exhibition:

Rob Parry

Rob Parry (1925) was a student and employee of Gerrit Rietveld and is now 80 years old.
In the period 1945-1960 Parry designed several pieces of furniture. This furniture collection of Rob Parry is however mainly unknown, because most of these designs were only made for special projects but were never produced in serial. Many models only exist on paper or as a scale model. Now 50 years later, the Dutch furniture producer bränd has taken several Parry chairs in production.
Beside these new collection, VIVID shows original models, prototypes, scale models, sketches and graphic work. And offcorse Parrys most famous design the red-grey PTT mail box which he designed in 1957, together with his colleague Emile Truijen and was used for over 50 years in Holland.
